Del Bosque unhappy with Spain

Vicente del Bosque has admitted that Spain's second-half performance against Ukraine on Friday left 'a bad taste' in his mouth.

La Roja raced to an early lead through Alvaro Morata but struggled to maintain their intensity after the break, and Coach was perplexed as to the reasons for his side's dip in performance levels, despite their eventual 1-0 victory at Sanchez Pizjuan.

"We dropped off in the second half and that leaves a bad taste in my mouth,” he said after the game.

“In the first half we played well and had chances. In the second we had chances for Juanfran and Cazorla but [our profligacy] cost us.

“[Alvaro Morata] took his chance and scored. He met Koke's pass and gave a well-defined performance.

“Everyone did well. We got the three points, but our problems came in the second half.

“There will be changes [for the match against Netherlands] because there was no charge [in the second half] from the players.”
