Ramos: Iniesta the perfect gentleman!

Sergio Ramos has hailed Andres Iniesta as “the boyfriend every mother wants for their daughters” ahead of Spain's Euro 2016 qualifier against Ukraine on Friday.

The Real Madrid defender touched on a number of personnel, including his pleasure to see fellow Sevillista Vitolo, along with former Blancos colleague Alvaro Morata and Barcelona rival Gerard Pique, hit form at the right time for La Roja, but dedicated most of his praise to the midfielder.

“We try to ensure that all the new players who come [into the Spain squad] are integrated as quickly as possible,” he began at a Press conference.

“All of them have been having great seasons with their respective clubs, and as a Sevillano [Sevilla native] myself, I hope that continues.

“It's always nice when a player from your part of the country is with the national team [referring to Vitolo's inclusion].

“Morata's a great player, who has a great future ahead of him. He's been showing his quality for a number of years now at international level.

“He's been successful in the lower categories and he's here with us now for his own merits.

“He's been scoring a lot of goals for Juventus. He's quick and his ball control is excellent – he's a tricky striker to face.

“His movement is good, he's always looking for spaces to move into and he's good with his back to goal, so he's a good option for the national team.

“For me, going back to Sevilla means going home; it's where I made my professional debut and grew as a player. I’m a Sevillista and a Madridista, both clubs have shown me affection.

“For me, Andres is the son which every mother would want. His career figures tell you everything you need to know [about him]. He possesses magical skills and has won everything there is to win.

“I'm really happy that [Gerard] Pique's back in form for Spain, although maybe not so much for Barca!”
