Travellers with Turkish Airlines need not have worried about missing Sunday’s Clasico at the Camp Nou.
The carrier reached an agreement with Mediapro, the company that owns the rights to games in Spain, to show it on 17 of its long-haul flights, the first in-flight live broadcast of a La Liga game
It meant around 5,000 passengers were able to keep up with the action at 30,000 feet, adding to a worldwide audience of an estimated 400 million also expected to be taking in the Barcelona-Real Madrid clash.
The signal was distributed in 4K HD resolution, with some flights airing the match shortly after take-off, including flights from Istanbul to Tokyo, Hong Kong, Shanghai and Beijing.
