Malaga not relaxed claims Gracia

Malaga boss Javi Gracia says his side has not relaxed despite having already sealed top-flight safety with much of the season remaining.

Gracia saw Los Blanquiazules go down to a disappointing 1-0 defeat at Rayo Vallecano at the weekend, Gael Kakuta with the only goal of the game midway through the first half, but denied they had taken their foot off the gas after picking up just four points from the last 18 on their travels.

“It was a difficult game, as we knew it would be, because Rayo demand a lot of you defensively,” he told a Press conference.

“They get a lot of crosses into the box and that’s how their goal came about. It shouldn’t be allowed to happen because it’s a predictable move and we should have been ready for it.

“After we had [Marcos] Angeleri sent off it made it tough for us in the final 15 minutes, when we had to do a lot running, but we have to congratulate our opponents on their victory and continue in our own manner.

“However, I don’t feel as though this team has relaxed. With our characteristics we are sometimes better suited when playing at home than in certain environments,” he suggested.
