It’s been reported that Southampton Coach Ronald Koeman will ask Real Madrid for Martin Odegaard for next season.
Sport cites a story from the English Press that suggests the Saints are preparing the groundwork for talks with Los Blancos over a temporary transfer for the Norwegian starlet.
Southampton were one of the teams interested in Odegaard when he moved to Santiago Bernabeu and Koeman hasn’t given up on the midfielder.
It’s claimed Southampton had two scouts at Real Madrid Castilla’s game against Huesca a week ago to watch Odegaard, who played the last 30 minutes of the 2-0 defeat.
Southampton are said to be offering Odegaard the chance to get more experience at a higher level than Castilla, while Florentino Perez has been pushing for the 16-year-old to be involved in the Madrid first team, with Carlo Ancelotti rejecting the President’s proposal.
