Navarro: ‘Levante didn’t perform’

Levante defender says his team did not give their all in the 2-0 defeat to Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu but will continue to fight for Primera safety.

The Valencia side are in the bottom three, level on points with Deportivo la Coruna and Almeria, but Navarro feels the Levante players could have done much more against their superior opponents.

“We are a little bit embarrassed because I felt we didn’t give 100 per cent,” he told a Press conference.

“Maybe it was the pressure or their quality but we were not decisive enough. This is a difficult place to come to and we didn’t play well.

“They didn’t overwhelm us as they have done when we’ve been here before but at the end of the day they beat us 2-0.

“We’ve still got a lot of games left and they are all now finals, so we’ll continue to fight,” he declared.
