Elche boss Fran Escriba was left to rue the penalty that put his team on the back foot in their 3-0 defeat to Sevilla.
Jose Antonio Reyes was brought down in the box by Coro with Carlos Bacca converting the resultant penalty to open the scoring, a decision Escriba did not agree with and felt set the tone for the match.
“I didn’t think it was a penalty and that helped Sevilla, but there were two different parts to this game,” he told a Press conference.
“We were in the game in the second half and knew if we scored we’d have come close to getting a result, although we never had the conviction to take all three points.
“Sevilla are a team that can play directly or execute a passing game because they have players like Reyes, [Ever] Banega and Denis Suarez.
“They have a lot of options and we knew it was going to be difficult because they have a very complete squad,” he insisted.
