Moyes challenges La Real

David Moyes has challenged his Real Sociedad players to prove their mettle when they travel to La Liga rivals Getafe on Monday.

The Basques registered back-to-back victories against Almeria last weekend but remain winless away from home this season, and the Coach has warned his players that now is the time to start making an impression on the road in light of his plans for next term.

“We need a change in dynamics [away from home],” the former Everton and Manchester United manager said at a Press conference.

“We have to win at Getafe, but we want to stop the talking and [winning] is the only way [to do that]. I might make changes but I won’t say which [ones I’ll make].

“The players can win [their next two games] against Getafe and Cordoba. They must prove they’re ready for next season.

“These next two games will tell us whether we’re likely to achieve eighth place, which could give us the ticket to Europe.

“The team have shown that they can win without Carlos Vela. All the players have responded [to what’s been asked of them].

“[Imanol] Agirretxe has played well for the past two months. There’s a chance Vela may feature against Cordoba.

“He’s working hard, both with and without the ball, in training but he’ll only return he’s back at peak fitness.”
