Suarez slams English media

Barcelona forward Luis Suarez has slammed the English Press for driving him out of Liverpool last summer.

The Uruguay international’s spell at Anfield was overshadowed by numerous instances of media backlash, and he took issue with them once more after photographs of him tussling with Martin Demichelis during La Blaugrana’s recent win at Manchester City were published in many of the country’s leading newspapers.

“I don’t know if the British Press have a campaign against me, but it seems like they miss me,” he told BeIN Sports.

“They criticised me a lot, looking for things which weren’t there and drawing attention to them.

“The morning after [Manchester City-Barcelona], they published photos of me [tussling with Martin] Demichelis.

“When they realised that [the tussle] was false, these images disappeared from the pages [of the newspapers].

“I said enough was enough and left [Liverpool] because I was tired of them, yet they’re still looking for something [which isn’t there].”
