Djukic not giving in at Cordoba

Cordoba boss Miroslav Djukic says he refuses to throw in the towel after seeing the La Liga strugglers lose 2-1 at home to Getafe.

Florin Andone put the Andalusians ahead but Djukic’s men conceded twice in the final five minutes to remain four points adrift at the foot of the table.

However, the Serbian insists there is still plenty to fight for and is not even thinking about the club dispensing with his services following a seventh straight loss.

“My continuity does not depend upon me and all I can do is work,” he told a post-match Press conference.

“I’m not even considering the sack because we are all in the same boat and all to blame for this situation. We are trying our best but the results are not coming, although I’m happy with the way we are working.

“It wasn’t easy to break down Getafe but we went out in the very first minute in search of victory, yet in the end it went to our opponents.

“We’ll do everything we can until it’s mathematically impossible. We’ve deserved a lot more from some of our games, particularly those against Real Madrid, Eibar, Almeria, Valencia and Espanyol.

“However, in this game it’s ultimately results that count,” he lamented.
