Luis Enrique believes Barcelona are reaping the benefits of hard work following Sunday’s 6-1 victory over Rayo Vallecano in La Liga.
The Catalans followed up their progression to the Copa del Rey final and last-16 advantage in the Champions League by topping the League standings in Week 26, and the Coach claims his side’s progress on all three fronts this season is nothing less than they deserve.
“Every win is complicated [to attain] as each match has its own difficulties,” he said after the game at Camp Nou.
“The urgent need to win [a match] is always a stimulus, although it can be a burden sometimes.
“Knowing how to manage [the situation] is key. Now comes the decisive stretch [of the season]. I hope we’re up for the challenge.
“We’ve fought hard to experience this situation. In order to reach the Copa [del Rey] final, we had to beat tough opponents.
“We’re where we want to be, but we must be cautious. We have to improve and continue raising our performance levels so we can win more games.
“Luis Suarez is bringing us more and more. [Ivan] Rakitic has been one of the best signings of the season. In addition to his quality, he gives us intelligence.
“Both [Xavi Hernandez and Andres Iniesta] were spectacular. Their passing allowed us to continue finding our attackers.”
