Resino: Granada are fighting

Abel Resino believes the 1-0 Andalusian derby win over Malaga was a crucial result, one that puts Granada in the fight to avoid relegation.

Victory came via Ignacio Camacho’s own goal, and while Los Rojiblancos remain in the bottom three, their first win since January keeps them in touching distance of safety.

“This match was vital for our kids to keep believing. If we didn’t win we could have stopped believing,” he admitted, Marca reports.

“The victory puts us in the fight, which was the goal. It’s very important to keep fighting and developing success.

“Since I’ve been at Granada we’ve created chances and today the team had a presence in the penalty area. We had good chances, with good crosses and good interpretation of our football.

“It could be a turning point and there’s a lot of joy. And it was important to have Jeison Murillo back, because he gives the team tremendous security.”
