Emery: And now Villarreal…

Unai Emery is ready to think about Sevilla’s Europa League tie with Villarreal following the chaotic 4-3 win over Deportivo La Coruna.

Sevilla fell behind at Riazor to Oriol Riera’s 28th minute goal but a Vitolo brace but Los Rojiblancos ahead.

Kevin Gameiro netted a penalty before a second from Riera while a Sidnei own goal restored Sevilla’s two-goal advantage.

Lucas Perez’s late penalty was the seventh goal in the game and, speaking afterwards, Emery revealed his happiness at where the result leaves Sevilla, looked ahead to midweek, but also lamented some failings in his side.

“We’ve maintained the credibility we had in the League and now we’re thinking about Villarreal,” he said, according to Marca.

“We continue on our journey. These three points are important for our credibility and to keep growing. We’re satisfied with the points and to reach 49 points.

“We need to improve certain aspects of our game, especially in defence. They’re aspects which we can’t fail at, even if we know our opponent is going to have chances.

“The match was good for the viewers, with a lot of emotions. We’re happy but we’re restrained because we know we need to improve some aspects.”
