Danilo says ‘yes’ to Madrid?

Danilo has verbally agreed to join Real Madrid this summer after rejecting Manchester United’s offer, according to Marca.

A report in Tuesday’s edition of Sport claimed the Red Devils were ready to match the Porto right-back’s €50m release clause, but the Madrid-based publication has countered the story.

In Marca’s view of events, Los Blancos have held meetings with the player’s representatives in recent days and discovered that the 23-year-old’s preferred destination is the Santiago Bernabeu.

As a result of this admission, Madrid are now confident they can land Danilo for a cut-price €20m, furthered by the fact his contract expires at the end of next season.

Barcelona have also been credited with an interest in the full-back, who joined Porto for €13m in 2011 and has established himself as a full Brazil international under Carlos Dunga since last summer’s World Cup.
