Busquets eyes ‘decisive’ Clasico

Sergio Busquets says he hopes the upcoming Clasico against Real Madrid proves to be a vital encounter for his Barcelona side.

The Catalans are now just two points behind La Liga leaders Madrid after Carlo Ancelotti’s men dropped two vital points in the 1-1 home draw with Villarreal at the weekend, while Busquets is hopeful the clash between the Spanish giants in three weeks will be decisive.

“Let’s hope the Clasico is crucial for us because we are currently at a disadvantage in that we have to win every game, so when Madrid slip up we must make the most of it,” he told a Press conference.

“What we did expect was to win in Granada and we have to go out to win every game. We were four points behind Madrid and now it’s down to two. Nothing changes.”

Busquets also looked forward to Wednesday’s Copa del Rey semi-final second leg clash with Villarreal at El Madrigal and feels that Barca are in the driving seat following their 3-1 victory in the first leg.

“It will obviously be a difficult game but we are one step away from the final and everyone wants a good result. We start with an advantage because they have to score.

“They tightened up in the first leg but now they will have to open up. Hopefully we will be able to take advantage of that,” he insisted.
