Enrique blasts Granada pitch

Luis Enrique congratulated his Barcelona players “for being able to string three passes together” on Granada’s pitch following their 3-1 La Liga win on Saturday.

Despite La Blaugrana eventually recording a comprehensive victory at Nuevo Los Carmenes thanks to goals from Ivan Rakitic, Luis Suarez and Lionel Messi, the Coach was left unimpressed with the state of the turf in Andalucia.

“I’m very happy and satisfied with my team’s work under such special circumstances,” he quipped after the game.

“I must congratulate the players for being able to string three passes together on the turf [they played on].

“Both sets of players attempted to pass the ball to each other and it was remarkable.

“[On Carles Rexach’s claims he tried to implement too many rules], the only norma [rule] I know is [Spanish actress] Norma Duval.

“I don’t know many others, but I’m very happy for the team's victory.

“In every game, our opponents use their attacking weapons against us. We expected the difficulties, which Granada put us under.

“We tried to be more effective, direct and take advantage of our play in the second phase.

“Perhaps [Luis Suarez] is now becoming more prominent, but since he came here he’s performed at a high level.

“For us, his work is special and very interesting.”
