Ancelotti: Morata staying at Juve

Carlo Ancelotti has acknowledged Real Madrid have a buy-back clause in Alvaro Morata’s contract but he expects the forward to stay at Juventus.

Ancelotti has spoken to Gazzetta dello Sport regarding the forward, who left Santiago Bernabeu for Turin over the summer, amid speculation Los Blancos will look to exercise the return stipulation in the deal.

“He needed to play,” Ancelotti admitted, when reflecting on Morata’s exit.

“He’s a young boy who was looking for more opportunities and consistency. He had a lot of offers, he’s the one who chose Juve.

“He’s a modern striker, he has pace, rhythm and intensity, he’s cool in front of goal and he’s a hard worker.

“In Morata’s contract there’s a right of redemption [for us] but I think he’ll stay at Juventus.”
