‘These are the games Sevilla want’

Unai Emery is relishing Sevilla’s Europa League second leg against Borussia Monchengladbach. “We all want to play these games.”

Sevilla hold a one-goal lead from the first leg, given to them by Vicente Iborra, and Emery has warned his players will face a febrile atmosphere when they go to Germany.

“We all want to play these kinds of games, players, and fans. We want high-level games,” he said, AS reports.

“Gladbach have a support that will fill the stadium and this is our challenge. We need to experience these atmospheres, whether they’re for or against us.

“We have experienced players in the team, who overcame similar situations last season. We’re prepared.

“We respect Gladbach, the right amount, and I think it will be a very good game and a spectacular contest.

“Every player wants to be here, including Beto, injured, everyone wants to come whether or not they’re able to play. We don’t think it’s the end of the road but with the support of everyone, we can do better.

“These are the best matches to develop. Sergio Rico has enjoyed these games and should continue to earn his place as Sevilla’s goalkeeper in the future. We have to accelerate his growth with these performances.”
