Suarez: City have weaknesses

Luis Suarez has warned Manchester City that Barcelona are ready to exploit their “weaknesses in central midfield” in the Champions League on Tuesday.

The English champions will host La Blaugrana in the first leg of their last-16 tie for the second time in successive seasons but may be forced to do without James Milner through injury, while Yaya Toure is ineligible to face his former club due to suspension.

“I think Manchester City are one of the favourites to win the Champions League,” the former Liverpool attacker told Uefa’s official website.

“Many people doubt them due to their recent [bad form]. Manchester City are the reigning Premier League champions and have world-class players in their ranks.

“They’ll fight to the end. We know City’s quality and the power they have both in midfield and attack.

“However, we also know their weaknesses in central midfield, and that's where we have to capitalise.

“I think when you play against a great team, you never know what they’ll do on the pitch. They have very good players and great quality on the ball.

“But we’re Barcelona, we know the quality we have and what we can do to City.

“It’s different [on coming back to England]. I was at Liverpool and now I’ll play there with a different team. It’s a totally different experience.”
