Gerard Pique has laughed off the controversy surrounding his night out at a casino with Lionel Messi and former Barcelona teammate Cesc Fabregas.
The trio were photographed in the late hours of Saturday following the Catalans’ 1-0 defeat by Malaga at Camp Nou, but the defender insists it was merely a friendly reunion with the Chelsea midfielder.
“[Regarding the casino photos], we had a friend over from London and had a good time with him,” he clarified at a Press conference.
“There’s no confusion [with Luis Enrique]. The team are with the Coach and our relationship [with him] has always been good.
“When we won 11 games in a row, nobody talked about [our relationship]. Sometimes you win one and lose another, but we’ll show the critics that the squad haven’t changed from three days ago.”
