Bartomeu reveals Isco admiration

Josep Maria Bartomeu has revealed his admiration for Isco, amid speculation that Barcelona will attempt to prise him away from Real Madrid next year.

The attacking midfielder’s future at the Santiago Bernabeu looked to be in doubt following the summer arrivals of fellow midfielders Toni Kroos and James Rodriguez, but he has since flourished in a deeper role.

Consequently, the Catalans have been linked with making a move for 22-year-old once their transfer embargo is lifted in January 2016, and the President gave his seal of approval, comparing the starlet to Andres Iniesta.

“[Isco] is a very good player, I saw the game against Elche and he had a great game,” he stated to RNE.

“When he played for Malaga, I thought he had ability to be like [Andres] Iniesta, he’s very good.

“However, Madrid’s players feel very well in Madrid and so do those at Barca.”
