Miguel Angel Moya is pleased to hear there’s a chance Diego Simeone will renew his contract at Atletico Madrid, but adds he’s in the dark about it.
It was reported last week that Cholo and the champions were to discuss a five-year contract extension and Moya was asked for his thoughts on the news in an interview with AS.
“If I’m honest, I learned about it from the Press, that they are trying to renew,” Moya admitted.
“It’s very good news. Cholo has achieved great things for Atletico in recent years. Anything to keep him here a long time is good – for him, the players and the club.”
Moya was also asked about two of his teammates, front pair Antoine Griezmann and Mario Mandzukic.
“Primarily, they bring goals. They’re both in good form and when they link up, everyone benefits. They’re contributing greatly,” he said of the duo.
