Griezmann wants more at Atleti

Antoine Griezmann isn’t satisfied with his current contribution to Atletico Madrid and wants to give more and more to the team.

Griezmann scored twice in the champions’ 3-0 win over Almeria and spoke to reporters after the match, discussing both the win and the return of the Champions League.

“We’re happy for the three points. We keep showing we’re strong at home and wanted another victory after we lost in Vigo,” he said, AS reports.

“We scored a very early goal [through a Mario Mandzukic penalty] and we were able to hold the lead and have the ambition to go for more goals.

“The truth is Mandzukic is easy to get along with, because he is a great striker, and it’s the same with Fernando Torres and Raul Garcia.

“I want to contribute more and more to the team. I’m enjoying it.”

Atletico, last year’s Champions League runners-up, meet Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen on Wednesday and Griezmann said the team has to be at their best for the encounter.

“We have to rest and then think about that game,” he added.

“We must be on top form for the match against Leverkusen.”
