English trio keeping Pedro tabs?

Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United are all reportedly monitoring Pedro Rodriguez’s situation at Barcelona.

The winger has been a first-team regular at Camp Nou since 2009-10 but has seen his place taken by Luis Suarez, who arrived from Liverpool for a club-record €81m last summer.

According to Marca, Pedro is unhappy with his demotion in squad status but has so far refused to make his feelings known, fearing that he may disrupt the team’s harmony.

As a result, the 27-year-old has instructed his representatives to put off any offers until the end of the season, when he intends to seek clarification on his Barca role.

From that meeting, it is believed that Pedro will have a clearer idea of his where his future lies, thereby drawing attention from the aforementioned Premier League trio.

The Spain international’s contract expires in the summer of 2016 and can be bought out for €150m, but it remains to be seen whether he will renew, force through a transfer or leave on a Bosman.

Despite his lack of gametime compared to previous seasons, Pedro has scored 10 goals this term, making his 300th appearance in La Liga last weekend, but has started just 18 times.

However, La Blaugrana may be loath to lose Pedro just yet as they are banned from registering any new players until January of next year in light of their FIFA-imposed embargo.
