Valverde rues missed opportunity

Ernesto Valverde believes Athletic Bilbao passed up a chance to take three points as they were held to a goalless draw at Granada.

Granada played much of the last 30 minutes with 10 men but Los Leones still couldn’t find a way through and the Coach was forced to concede the game’s better chances fell to the hosts.

“We controlled the first half well and even thought we would be in front because we got players in the area and had chances but in the second we didn’t so much,” he said, AS reports.

“We were facing 10 but the clearest chances were for Granada. We lost a great opportunity to win but Granada created two or three very clear chances for a goal.

“We were better against 11 than against 10. When the opposition have 10 you usually find space but we couldn’t find any room to play.”
