‘Sevilla again showed home strength’

Sevilla Coach Unai Emery was impressed with his side’s 3-0 win over Cordoba, crediting the team’s form at Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan with the result.

Los Rojiblancos took a two-goal lead before Gregory Krychowiak was dismissed but added a third goal before full time despite going down to 10 men, against a visiting side who were also a man light.

“Again we demonstrated our strength at the Sanchez Pizjaun,” Emery said after the match, AS reports.

“The team had already conveyed that they wanted to regain their credibility and they showed that to the supporters and provided a win and a good game.

“The team has also been credible away from home and sustained a performance that has been inconsistent in recent games.

“Gerard Deulofeu is 20-years-old and maturity can’t be achieved in a game or a season. He has to deliver a performance and be convincing, although I am pleased with him.

“The red card? It was a 50-50 ball and both made contact with the opponent. He wasn’t too aggressive.”
