Nuno ready for difficult game

Nuno Santo isn’t taking anything for granted when Valencia host Getafe, warning it will be a difficult encounter.

Los Che host El Geta in Sunday’s early kick-off and arrive under the leadership of former Valencia player and Coach Quique Sanchez Flores.

Nuno paid tribute to his counterpart, as well as considered what it means to play at Noon local time, as opposed to the usual evening start.

“Some changes have to be taken into account. We go to the hotel [the day before], so it’s a different process,” he revealed, AS reports.

“The hours are different but we are prepared and motivated for everything. [The early kick-off] is a time for families and for everyone to enjoy.

“It’s a home game against a tough opponent who are coming to Mestalla to make it difficult, but we are prepared to play a good game and to win.

“Quique has changed some things. The team is more organised defensively. The players have more possession of the ball. They’re a good team.

“I admire him as a Coach since he has won many things. He was in Portugal. He’s a Coach I admire a lot.

“We will try to have more possession of the ball so we have more options in attack. I want us to be more precise.”

Nuno also touched on the future of Jose Gaya, who has been linked with a summer move away from the club, and a handful of other players in his squad.

“Gaya is as always, calm. He’s prepared for the game and he’s very motivated,” Nuno said of the left-back.

“He’s a Valencia player and he’s comfortable here. He is at Valencia, of that there is no doubt.

“Alvaro Negredo works as required by the staff and I’m very happy with this. Shkodran Mustafi trained and I’ll make a decision [on his fitness].

“Dani Parejo is very important to our team. I think he grows every day and improves. His numbers are good and I think he still has room for improvement.”
