Espanyol Coach Sergio Gonzalez was content with the 1-1 draw between his side and Athletic Bilbao in the Copa del Rey semi-final first-leg.
The trainer said after the match that not only was he pleased with his side’s performance, but the outcome is in their favour as well.
“I’m very happy with how the team has competed. We were better in the second half,” he noted, Marca reports.
“1-1 is better than 0-0. We will compete very well in the return. We have our feet on the ground.
“I’m a positive person and with me it’s good. We can’t relax but the result is a good one to play in front of our fans.
“The fans are very committed to us and make a great effort to follow their team.”
