Navas to start against Depor?

Carlo Ancelotti is considering playing Keylor Navas in place of Iker Casillas in Saturday’s game against Deportivo La Coruna.

AS reports that the Costa Rica international was used in training with the rest of the likely starting XI, which contained three further changes from the side beaten by Atletico Madrid.

Alvaro Arbeloa and Marcelo replaced Dani Carvajal and Fabio Coentrao, the latter of whom suffered a calf injury and will be unavailable for around 10 days.

Asier Illarramendi was the other new face, appearing to form a midfield trio with Toni Kroos and Isco, with Sami Khedira out injured.

AS add that Carlo Ancelotti still considers the 4-3-3 formation, with Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema and Gareth Bale, ‘non-negotiable’ despite calls for a change following el Derbi.

It’s suggested that the system will only be altered if one of the trio picks up an injury.

If Navas does play it will be three months since his last League outing, against Rayo Vallecano in November.
