Antoine Griezmann has highlighted the feel-good factor currently sweeping through Atletico Madrid following their win in the capital derby last weekend.
Los Colchoneros’ 4-0 victory over Real Madrid saw them close the gap on their arch-rivals to just four points, with the French winger enjoying his best form since arriving from Real Sociedad for €25m before the start of the season, scoring nine goals in his previous seven matches.
“We have a good run of games coming up, we feel at home on the pitch, we’re playing with confidence and getting better and better,” he told reporters.
“Hopefully it stays that way. On a personal level, I’m getting minutes, playing well and scoring goals. I hope to continue like this, but I have to keep working hard.
“We’ve had two days off and become eager to keep improving and think about [the match against Celta] Vigo.
“We know it’ll be a difficult game because they play very well, so we must be prepared.
“If we have a good game, playing seriously at the back and then taking a quick lead like we did against Madrid, I’m sure we'll be fine.”
