Valencia ask about Malaga ace

Valencia have made a move to secure the services of Malaga midfielder Samuel Garcia if they qualify for next season’s Champions League.

According to La Opinion de Malaga, Los Che are looking to strengthen the right-hand side of their midfield this summer and have identified the 24-year-old as a potential transfer target.

Valencia director of football Rufete is believed to have drawn up a list players and, with the financial fair play rules to consider, sees Samuel as someone whose salary demands could easily be accommodated.

It is understood that Valencia have already been in touch with the Malaga-born player’s representative and will sound the Costa del Sol outfit out over his availability at end of the 2014-15 campaign, should they achieve Champions League qualification.

However, Los Blanquiazules will be sure to drive a hard bargain as they would like Samuel to renew a contract that runs out in June 2016.

As a 14-year-old Samuel signed for Chelsea in Jose Mourinho’s first spell in charge at Stamford Bridge, but returned to Malaga after just three months having failed to settle in London.
