Alcaraz: ‘Levante lacked firepower’

Levante boss Lucas Alcaraz was left to rue his side’s lack of firepower in the 2-0 home defeat to Athletic Bilbao.

A second-half Aritz Aduriz brace wrapped things up for the Basques, although Alcaraz felt his players deserved at least a share of the spoils.

“Zero points is too few for what we did today but the truth is that if you don’t score, miss penalties and play with 10 men, which happened recently, then things are going to be difficult,” he told a Press conference.

“Scoring first is a crucial part of any game and we didn’t do that despite the chances we created. After that we couldn’t relax when we went a goal down and the need to win made us nervous.

“We are going through a bad time and need to improve. It’s important to generate scoring opportunities and accentuate what we’ve done up until now,” he concluded.
