Madrid could get De Gea for free

Real Madrid are prepared to wait until summer 2016 to sign Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea for free.

Los Blancos have been linked with a move to bring the former Atletico Madrid stopper back to La Liga, despite recent reports suggesting he will pen a five-year contract extension at Old Trafford.

However, the Daily Telegraph claims the European champions are prepared to wait until De Gea’s current agreement expires in June next year before making their move.

The Spanish giants are reportedly confident they can persuade the 24-year-old, who joined United in June 2011 for a reported €20m, to return to Spain, with the lure of Madrid proving too tempting for him at this stage of his career.
