Busquets ignores Atleti appeals

Sergio Busquets decried Atletico Madrid's calls of foul play following Barcelona's 3-2 win at Atletico Madrid in the Copa del Rey quarter-final second leg.

Los Colchoneros felt Neymar's match-winner should not have stood after Antoine Griezmann's volley at the other end was seen to have hit the arm of Jordi Alba in the box by television cameras.

"It was a watered-down second half, but that's football," the midfielder told reporters.

"The first was a nice for the purists, the team took their work seriously and exploited most of the gaps in [Atleti's] defense.

"I've also been told that the penalty [conceded by] Mascherano was outside the box. It was wrong for both teams.

"Maybe it was a penalty, but there have been many other incidents not taken into account.

"This is football. Football is about imagination, and [Neymar] has a lot of it. You must know how to win and how to lose.

"We especially took advantage of set-pieces and the counterattack.

"It would've been tough to play on the break [if we hadn't scored in the first leg], but we knew we had that option.

"Barca are always candidates [for trophies], but we can't underestimate Villarreal and Getafe. From hereon, we'll fight to reach the final."
