Bale ‘very happy’ at Madrid

Gareth Bale has reiterated that he is 'very happy' at Real Madrid and does not intend to leave the club in the near future.

The Welsh winger has been continually linked with a swap deal involving Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea, but he insists he is realising a dream by representing Los Blancos.

“Spanish classes are going pretty well, I take two or three a week, and I understand and speak more each time.” he began to Cadena SER.

“[Living in Spain] is different, the time for example … Madrid is a more relaxed city [than London] and I like it more.

“Real Madrid had the best players. I watched them a lot as a child, and they played the best football, so I was really attracted to them.

“I loved seeing [Zinedine] Zidane and Ronaldo play together. It was amazing what they did on a football pitch.

“That season [2012-13] I played very well. I wanted to reach the Champions League with Tottenham, but if I didn't, I wanted to play for a great team.

“An offer from Real Madrid arrived at the end of the season came, and I couldn't refuse it. The rest is history.

“It was a difficult summer, a long process of about four months. The team received me with open arms. It was amazing. It all went very well.

“[Luka Modric and I] were together at Tottenham for four or five years, and we had very good relationship. It was very important for me to have him here at Real Madrid.

“I'm very happy here, I still have many years of my contract left and want to keep winning titles with Real Madrid.”
