Gracia: Malaga are improving

Malaga boss Javi Gracia believes his players are continuing to improve after seeing them come back from a goal down to draw 1-1 at Athletic Bilbao.

Debutant Javi Guerra’s strike 12 minutes from time ensured Los Blanquiazules a share of the spoils at San Mames after Mikel San Jose had opened the scoring eight minutes previously, and Gracia felt his team were full value for their point.

“It was a very tight game and it wasn’t brilliant in terms of good football, but we managed to come back from 1-0 down. We are getting our injured players back and continue to get better,” he told reporters.

“We deserved a point and there were some positive things to take away, but I am critical and always trying to improve things.

“We are playing three straight games against Bilbao with the Copa del Rey matches and I’m looking at alternatives to be competitive,” he explained.
