Villarreal have confirmed they are to take on loan Arsenal’s Costa Rica international forward Joel Campbell for the rest of the season.
The two clubs have also reached an agreement for the transfer of Gabriel Paulista, the defender who, once the deal is finalised on Monday, will move in the opposite direction to Campbell.
Campbell is to undergo a medical ahead of his switch to El Madrigal but is no stranger to Spanish football, having spent a season on loan at Real Betis in 2012-13.
The 22-year-old has also been loaned out to Lorient and Olympiacos and has played 10 times for the Gunners without finding the back of the net. He moved to the London club in 2011.
