Liverpool are set to make a determined effort to bring Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema to Anfield, according to Metro.
The Reds are long-term admirers of the French international and the report claims they are willing to pay €50m to secure his signature, having become more desperate than ever to see him on Merseyside.
The 29-year-old, who has been with the Spanish giants since a 2009 move from Lyon for a reporter €35m, was the subject of an alleged offer from Liverpool last summer, which was rejected out of hand by Madrid President Florentino Perez, but they are ready to return with a new bid.
Despite having signed a new five-year deal at the Santiago Bernabeu last year, it is believed Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers will not be put off and will make his move at the end of this season.
