Jeremy Mathieu will miss Barcelona’s trip to Deportivo La Coruna tomorrow after picking up an Achilles injury in his left leg.
The French defender is now due to undergo tests in order to determine the extent of his setback, the Catalans have confirmed on their official website.
Mathieu could be joined on the Barca sidelines at Depor by Xavi Hernandez, who has yet to receive the all-clear on his fitness, despite training with the rest of the team.
The former Valencia man completed La Blaugrana’s 4-0 demolition of Elche in the Copa del Rey on Thursday, getting on the scoresheet with a free kick.
