Malaga sign Cardiff City striker

Malaga have signed Cardiff City striker Javi Guerra on loan until the end of the season, reports Diario Sur.

The Malaga-born player, 32, passed a medical on Thursday morning, with the Costa del Sol outfit agreeing to pay part of his wages for the remainder of the 2014-15 campaign.

However, the agreement is understood not to include an option to buy when it expires in the summer.

Guerra, who has hardly figured for the Welsh outfit this season having played just 41 minutes in three Championship games, has a good pedigree in La Liga after notching 15 goals in 37 games with Real Valladolid last term, the second-highest total by a Spaniard after Diego Costa.

“I’m very happy and have been waiting for this day, for this moment, and can’t wait to get started at what I consider my home,” he told reporters.
