Nuno: Valencia still on track

Nuno Santo was disappointed with Valencia’s 1-1 draw at Celta Vigo but maintained his side were still on course to qualify for the Champions League.

Fabian Orellana’s equaliser rescued the Galicians a point at Balaidos on Saturday after Rodrigo Moreno had given Los Che the lead towards the end of the first half, resulting in Los Che dropping out of La Liga’s top four.

“In the first half we had some luck with [Celta]<’s missed] penalty. After we went 1-0 up, we had chances to kill the game,” he told reporters.

“What hurts us all is how we conceded the equaliserl because when you’re suffering, you can’t concede a goal too.

“Despite the result, I can’t blame my players because they gave everything at a difficult venue. I’m proud of them all.

"We wanted to win, but we’re now on 35 points and still in reach of achieving our objectives.

“The point will serve us well if we beat Almeria next weekend because it will confirm our very good first half of the season.”
