Cordoba sign ex-United attacker

Cordoba have announced the signing of former Manchester United attacker Bebe on loan for the rest of the season from Benfica.

The 24-year-old passed his medical in the presence of Coach Miroslav Djukic earlier today and is free to make his debut at Rayo Vallecano on Monday.

Bebe made headlines in the summer of 2010 when he controversially joined United in a €9m transfer, which was later investigated by Portuguese police.

However, he appeared just seven times for the Red Devils, scoring twice, and was subsequently shipped out on loan to Besiktas, Rio Ave and Pacos de Ferreira.

The forward impressed at the latter last season, netting 12 goals in 27 matches in the Primeira Liga, before being snapped up by Benfica over the summer.

Bebe's move to Cordoba is strictly a loan deal, with no option of making the arrangement a permanent one.
