Enrique ‘given two-game deadline’

Luis Enrique is reportedly two games away from the sack at Barcelona as the disruption at Camp Nou continues.

Mundo Deportivo reports that if Barca don’t convincingly beat Elche in the Copa del Rey in midweek and Atletico Madrid in the League on Sunday, the Coach will ‘go the way of Andoni Zubizarreta.’

Zubi was on Monday sacked after four years as sporting director and his replacement has not yet been named.

Enrique has also been asked to improve his relationship with the Barca players after reports of a row with Lionel Messi, who was one of a number of big names left out of the team that started the defeat against Real Sociedad on Sunday.

Messi, Neymar, Dani Alves and Gerard Pique were all benched, with Pique the only player not called into the match, Messi coming on at half-time.

Reports of a row between Enrique and Messi at Anoeta surfaced earlier in the week and Messi missed Barca’s open training session on Monday.
