Jemez: Three valuable points

Paco Jemez regards the points taken from Rayo Vallecano’s win over Getafe as ‘very valuable’ and an affirmation of the team’s approach.

Getafe went in front through Alvaro Vazquez but goals from Jozabed and Raul Baena gave Rayo the victory in what proved to be the final match in charge for Getafe Coach Cosmin Contra.

Jemez was more concerned with his side, however, and praised the players for their display in clinching what he considers a hugely important result.

“The three points are very valuable and reaffirms what we do,” he said after the final whistle, AS reports.

“I always trust my team because they give me reason to be confident in how we work. They are good people. The way we were playing it was only a matter of time before we won.

“We had 20 points before today and want to end the first half of the season with 26 points. That’s the idea I want all my players to have.

“With work we will get better and we want to fight for something important. The second half of the season is always very complicated, very difficult, and the teams who want to compete for something will.

“We haven’t given all that we can yet and my objective as Coach is to demand that we do.”
