Diego Simeone has urged Atletico Madrid supporters to stand up and be counted when the side host Levante in La Liga on Saturday.
The Spanish champions ended 2014 in comprehensive fashion, as they halted a run of three matches without a win by demolishing Athletic Bilbao 4-1, and the Coach spoke of the need for a capacity crowd to be in attendance against the Valencian outfit.
“We’d like to have a stadium full of enthusiasm and invite our fans to be at the place where we experienced many joys last year. We need them,” he noted to assembled journalists.
“We come here on the back of a great second half against Athletic Bilbao, and we need a strong start against a tough team who know how to play.
“Above all, I have much respect for teams who have a clear idea of how to play.
“Levante are a decent team. We'll need to apply more of the same effort and approach we took in the second half against Bilbao to have a good game.”
