Emery: Sevilla are hungry

Unai Emery has insisted that Sevilla are chomping at the bit to resume their season against Celta Vigo on Saturday.

The Andalucians ended 2014 strongly with four wins in their last five matches, and the Coach is hoping for more of the same when his side take to Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan in the first match of the New Year this weekend.

“The team have much desire and enthusiasm to start again. We’re treating each match as something unique,” he said at a Press conference yesterday.

“We’ve started the New Year as a challenge, with high hopes of being happy. We're hungry. The team wants [success] and training proves it.

“Since we returned [from the winter break], it’s showed. We hope tomorrow will be productive and that we're able to transmit our energy.

“Three straight defeats can generate doubt, but we’re still expecting a very good Celta. They’re a team who demand a lot of you.

“We’re very happy with the squad and couldn’t care less [about the transfer market] because we’re only thinking about Celta.

“Coke is not in the best condition [after surgery on his nasal septum over Christmas]. He’s trained with a mask, but not trained hard.

“[On the news of Sebastian Cristoforo missing the rest of the season following knee surgery], he’s young, has character and will keep fighting. We have alternatives like Daniel Carrico.”
