Barcelona forward Pedro Rodriguez insisted that he expects Lionel Messi to win the 2014 FIFA Ballon d'Or. "He's superior to anyone else."
The Argentine is set to do battle with Cristiano Ronaldo and Manuel Neuer in the ring for the individual honour next month, and the winger believes his teammate must be considered the outstanding candidate.
"He's better [than Cristiano Ronaldo]," he said to reporters after a charity match on Friday.
"While Ronaldo has accumulated good numbers, Messi is superior to anyone else, so I expect him to win [the Ballon d'Or].
"The year has been good on balance as we're still in every competition. We'll see where we can go in the final six months.
"I'm pleased with the opportunities Luis Enrique has given me."
