Arsenal and Liverpool are set to battle it out to take Real Madrid left-back Fabio Coentrao to the Premier League.
The Daily Express suggest both clubs are desperate to land the Portuguese international in the January transfer window after he failed to cement a regular spot in Carlo Ancelotti’s starting line-up this season.
However, the Italian is in no mood to see any of his squad depart the Santiago Bernabeu and would prefer to keep Coentrao at the club, given that regular left-back Marcelo recently suffered injury.
Manchester United are also reported to be keen on the 26-year-old, who has started just one La Liga game this term, and came close to snapping him up in summer 2013 before he decided to remain in the Spanish capital.
