Everton are hoping to steal a march on cross-city rivals Liverpool in the race to sign Barcelona winger Adama Traore.
According to Metro, the Toffees are set to begin talks with the 18-year-old over a proposed loan move to Goodison Park in light of reported interest from Anfield.
Traore is one of Barca’s brightest youngsters and boss Luis Enrique would like him to go out on loan to gain some much-needed experience as his opportunities at the Camp Nou could be limited, given the array of talent at his disposal.
Liverpool are also eager to do business but Everton are understood to be in pole position to snare Traore, with negotiations due to take place in the coming days.
Traore has scored two goals in 15 appearances for Barcelona’s B team this season and provided eight assists.
