Gracia wants to end 2014 on a high

Javi Gracia wants Malaga to end 2014 on a high with a win against struggling Elche and said talk of the winter break is banned before the match.

Malaga have won their last two after experiencing a couple of defeats and Gracia hopes his side maintain that form against La Liga’s bottom club.

“We will try and give everything in this last effort and achieve some important points,” the Coach said, AS reports.

“We have to keep up this spirit and enthusiasm. And we must see if we can be more competitive.

“Elche really need [to win] and it’s a good opportunity for them to finish the year with another dynamic.

“They’ve always been – in the Segunda too – a well organised, ordered and disciplined group that does a lot with set-pieces and have a forward, Jonathas, who is scoring goals.

“I’m pleased by the environment of my coaches and colleagues working here to do something good. Results make you a bit happier or a bit less happy but the daily development means we’re enjoying a great season.

“The players have known for a month what to do over the break. They are professional. It’s forbidden to speak of a holiday. I don’t want to see a travel suitcase.

“Everyone knows what to do, then they can enjoy their rest, well deserved and proud.”
